Arts and crafts: lights

For the master bath project, I mentioned I was using retrofit LED lights. Here’s how.

Out of the box, they look like this.

I clip off the plug and hard wire them into my light circuit.

Those wire “whiskers” are there to hold the device into the cans. I dont have cans. So I bent them to better hold drywall from behind.

I bought a hole driller from China Freight. Then practiced on some scrap drywall. It was difficult and I needed some practice. I recommend a light hand and slow speed drill.

And completed, they will look like this.

The halogen bulb in my bathroom burned out a couple of months ago. I got an LED floodlight and just plugged it into the socket. Doesn’t ‘fill’ the void quite as well since it is a bit thinner but it works. NOT by any means as classy as your project by any means 😉

Thanks. I should point out that the manufacturers specifically told me not to use it this way. So if my house burns down, I will still sue them because they shouldn’t have sold a product that was so easily misused.
