Rolling Thunder

The annual motor cycle club conclave is rolling through DC today.  Yay!  Tens of thousands of motorcycles from around the country are being trailered in so they can add to the normally excessive holiday traffic and parking problems here in DC already.  Sure, motorcycles don’t take up much room.  But motorcycles plus a pickup truck plus a trailer = 3x the parking congestion that a normal tourist brings.

  1.  Please, all you Harley enthusiasts, tell me.  How does your doing your hobby, for your own enjoyment, here in the Nation’s capital instead of in your home town a thousand miles away, benefit a single veteran?
  2. Please, all you theological geniuses, tell me, how a memorial parade benefits the dead in any way.  I understand that in some far away cultures that practice ancestor worship (Asia and Catholic Latin America) that the dead get “feel goods” when living people do stuff like this.  But in Christianity (the significantly dominant religion in HERE), dead people die. Their souls go to heaven and are behind a great veil and are no longer interested in the things of this world.  The second most dominant religion is atheism, which believes that the dead become food for worms and also have no interest in the doings of those still living.

Another practice I don’t understand. Seems pointless I would just prefer a close examination to ensure the body is really dead, wait 24 hours, check again… then compost, or fish food.

Like I would but that kind of information on the Internet so my enemies could exploit it? Do you also expect superman to tweet that he is really Clark kent? Or batman’s blog to tell you about how “bruce” is really hot for some new bimbo?
